Rock star Pete Doherty is due back in court today to face drugs charges.

The 26-year-old Babyshambles frontman is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court charged with seven counts of possessing controlled drugs.

He is accused of having 0.406 grammes of heroin, 0.776 grammes of crack cocaine, 0.332 grammes of cannabis resin and 5.94 grammes of cannabis on December 18 last year in Riverside Close in east London.

On January 14 this year police allege he had 3.103 grammes of heroin, 3.664 grammes of crack cocaine and 2.503 grammes of cannabis in Dunlace Road, also in east London.

The case was adjourned at his last court appearance on March 9 after the chair of the bench was told the prosecution was not ready to proceed.

Doherty, of Bethnal Green, east London, became known in the music world as the front man of The Libertines.

After parting from the band, he formed his latest outfit, Babyshambles.

But it was as the boyfriend of model Kate Moss that his fame grew.

He is due before the court at 10am.
