An uplifting – from a downbeat start – gem from South Africa about the discovery of humanity and hope from an unlikely background.

Debut actor Chweneyagae is excellent as a gun-happy streetwise hood in Soweto who, after the killing of a woman in an auto robbery, finds her baby in the back seat … a discovery that changes his life.

The film is both violent and gentle as it finds the good in the worst of people.
