Collins' wife 'surprised' by split

The wife of former Genesis star Phil Collins was unaware their marriage was ending, insisting separation speculation was untrue just hours before her husband announced their split on Wednesday.

Collins' wife of six years, Orianne, maintained: "It is absolute rubbish to say we are separating or divorcing," and her friends confirm she hadn't entertained the idea, despite an increasingly rocky marriage.
