One month into a drug rehabilitation programme the star’s “determination was increasing” to come off illegal substances, Thames Magistrates’ Court in east London heard.

The Babyshambles singer was at the court for a review of a 12-month community order imposed when he was sentenced at Ealing Magistrates Court on February 8 for seven counts of possessing controlled drugs. .

The “positive progress” report came in spite of Doherty – the former boyfriend of model Kate Moss – testing positive for drugs in his first month of the order.

The 26-year-old is also due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court tomorrow after Scotland Yard said last night that he had been charged with seven fresh counts of drugs possession.
