George Clooney, Matt Damon, Chris Cooper, Jeffrey Wright
What magnificent work Clooney is doing these days, as the approaching Oscars testify: he’s now writing, directing and starring in award-nominated films, and all of them are excellent.
This drama set in the complex and highly political world of oil – where you just can’t trust even your closest friends and allies – shines a blinding light on the workings of American big business, and sweet it ‘aint.
It’s a twisted tale of dirty deeds and corruption – and you do have to keep your mind sharp throughout – that requires you to test the gray cells and ponder on its message.
And as the CIA agent, Clooney is just outstanding.
