Several stories are spread across one evening, set in a down-market café where the chef’s skills are so good they’re positively sexual.

But that’s not all that’s happening in this busy, and quite excellent, film, thanks to a strong cast and the strong hand of Irish writer-director Anthony Byrne.

The sheer pace and delight of the film, and the playing of de Caunes in particular, give it a sharp and satisfying edge.
