Becker awarded newspaper damages

Three-time Wimbledon tennis champion Boris Becker won €1.2m in damages from a German newspaper on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old took legal action when conservative publication Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) published his photograph next to a negative slogan in its launch Sunday edition in 2001.
