Diaz has lucky escape

Cameron Diaz dodged death last week when a bird smashed through the windscreen of her car, covering her and her chauffeur with glass.

The 33-year-old actress, who was on her way to film scenes for Jude Law movie The Holiday in Surrey, England, ducked when the bird hurtled through the window.

But Diaz was saved by her driver's calm reaction - instead of swerving or panicking, he kept his cool and pulled into the nearest garage.

A motorist at the service station says: "There is no doubt that he saved Cameron's life. Other drivers would have panicked and lost control but he remained very cool.

"All you had to do was look at the damage to the windscreen to realise there had been one hell of an impact."
