Elton John has accepted undisclosed damages from British newspaper The Sunday Times, after it reprinted a libelous claim about the star's behaviour at his White Tie and Tiara charity ball.

The flamboyant rocker insists the article published last summer caused him "distress and embarrassment" and is still pursuing legal action against The Daily Mail, who originally published the story.
