Soccer legend Diego Maradona has been charged with injuring two people following a hit-and-run car crash in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Friday.

The fallen sports star was a passenger in the off-road vehicle when it allegedly sped through a stop sign and hit a phone box, leaving two youths with minor wounds caused by flying glass.

One of the alleged victims says: "It came zig-zagging along, went up on the sidewalk, knocked over the phone booth, and the shattered glass injured us."

An onlooker adds: "I saw Maradona and two other people leave walking."
