Clooney haunted by eighties

Hollywood hunk George Clooney regrets starting his acting career in the 1980s - because he believes it was the worst decade in fashion history.

The actor/director, who shot to fame with his starring role as Dr Doug Ross in medical drama ER, claims his current sex symbol status can do nothing to erase his memories of way he looked 20 years ago.

He says: "It's unfortunate that (I started my) career in the '80s, which somehow was the worst fashion period of all time.

"Big balloon pants and shoulder pads will come back to haunt me for the rest of my life."
