The Adventures of Greyfriars Bobby
John Henderson
Greg Wise, Oliver Golding, James Cosmo, Christopher Lee
PG
One of history's most famous mutts - the little terrier who guarded his master's grave in l850s Edinburgh - returns to the screen in a film much less sentimental than the Disney forerunner.
Bobby became a legend, complete with his own statue, for his devotion to duty and in this surprisingly effective film which director Henderson fashions with care to period detail and conducts with a feeling for the drama of the story we are richly entertained and quite moved.
Good boy!!
