Elton John blames marriage for Lestat failure

Elton John blames the pressures of his extended 'wedding' celebrations and hectic Las Vegas schedule for the critical mauling of his musical Lestat.

The Sacrifice hitmaker who entered into a civil partnership with his longterm love David Furnish in December, acknowledges his recent work ethic has been less than conscientious.

He tells the New York Post: "It is frustrating that I can't get there more often.

"I haven't been as helpful as I could be.

"But when the show is in New York, I'll be on the East Coast working in Atlanta, so I'll be popping in and out. - Any excuse to come to New York!"
