Husband and wife team Richard and Judy could be fronting their own solo shows.

Channel 4 has given Cactus TV, the company behind the Richard and Judy teatime show, an opportunity to make two pilots.

They give Richard Madeley, 49, and Judy Finnigan, 57, the option to make solo shows as well as producing another programme together.

A spokeswoman said no decision had yet been made on the pilots, which will not be broadcast.

She said: “Cactus TV will be producing two pilots. There is an option for one to be a solo vehicle.”

Last month Channel 4 decided to cut back daytime show Richard and Judy to make room for Paul O’Grady, who was poached from ITV.

Richard and Judy, who have been married for 19 years, made their names presenting This Morning for ITV before defecting to Channel 4.
