Madonna teams up with Gorillaz

Madonna will perform with "virtual" band Gorillaz at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles next week.

Organisers said the singer would appear with a 3D colour animation of the cartoon band in what organisers called an "exciting Grammy moment".

Gorillaz - created by Blur frontman Damon Albarn - have been nominated for four Grammys, while Madonna has previously won five.

The band is expected to appear in a 3D visual first used at the MTV Europe awards in Portugal last year. It is not yet known which track Madonna and Gorillaz will perform at the event in Los Angeles next Wednesday.
