Boy George arrives in court to face drugs charges

Boy George arrived in court today to answer charges related to his arrest on drug charges in October.

At the last court date on December 19, New York Criminal Court Judge Patricia Nunez adjourned the case until today at the request of defence and prosecution lawyers.

At the time, defence lawyer Lewis Freeman said the performer, whose real name is George O’Dowd, had been excused from the court date so he could work on literary and recording projects in England.

O’Dowd, 44, is famous for his androgynous persona and hits with the band Culture Club, including Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?

He was arrested on October 7 on drug charges after he called police to report what he said was a pre-dawn burglary in his Manhattan apartment.
