White ignores doctors' advice

The White Stripes frontman Jack White defied doctors' advice to play at the Australia and New Zealand summer festival Big Day Out last week.

White decided to go ahead with the travelling event, despite cancelling a string of gigs earlier last month, when doctors ordered him to rest damaged vocal chords.
