Golden Globes winner Joaquin Phoenix has teamed up with Hollywood mate Balthazar Getty to direct a new music video for his band.

Phoenix got his first taste of directing when he took charge of the video for British group People in the Planes' song If You talk Too Much (My Head Will Explode).

And now he's planning to direct a second promo for pal and Ladder 49 co-star Getty's rock act Ringside.

Getty says: "It was really exciting to see Joaquin win the Golden Globe. People don't realise what a talented musician and songwriter he is."

The band shot the video for Tired of Being Sorry last August in downtown Los Angeles and have been playing sold out shows around California.

Getty, who most recently starred opposite Jennifer Garner in TV drama Alias, has had a long career as an actor, Calvin Klein model and now, musician.
