Lee brings globe home to Taiwan
Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee was besieged by fans when he returned to his native Taiwan, following his Golden Globe triumph last week.
Fans applauded the 51-year-old film-maker as he touched down at Taipei international airport early on Thursday, having collected awards for Best Director, Best Drama, Best Screenplay and Best Original Song earlier in the week.
He says: "I think we all have a Brokeback Mountain in our hearts. It's like an Eden - it's about romantic love and the illusion of love.
"The film won recognition in the United States and that gave me more faith (in film-making). I am doing my best and let fate decide on the Oscars."
