Enjoyable Rudolph drama examines married life
Just when you think you have it all the world falls apart.
In The Secret Lives of Dentists (Tartan, €24.99), director Alan Rudolph turns his lens on the seemingly happy couple David and Dana Hurst (Campbell Scott and Hope Davis).
Finding his wife in the arms of another man, David burns with fury and begins a quick descent into despair, suspicion and fantasy.
As the tension builds we see a warts and all view of marriage that shows shades of American Beauty, but avoids the excess.
A lovely, very enjoyable film.
A director and cast crew, gag reel, deleted scenes, etc., complete a fine release.
: 4/5.
