Actress Hunter, 47, has twins

Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter has given birth to twins, according to reports.

The 47-year-old, whose partner is British actor Gordon MacDonald, has had two “happy and healthy” babies, People magazine reported.

They are the first children for The Piano star and boyfriend MacDonald.

The couple met in November 2004 when they starred together in the West End production of playwright Marina Carr’s By The Bog Of Cats.

The Georgia-born actress played opposite MacDonald as a woman abandoned by her lover of 14 years.

Hunter, who is one of seven children, was the voice of Helen Parr in 2004’s animated hit The Incredibles.

Her publicist told People: “She had the babies. They are happy and healthy.”

Hunter, who won her Oscar in 1993 for The Piano, has also had Academy Award nominations for her roles in Broadcast News, The Firm and Thirteen.

She has been married once.
