The 79-year-old former broadcaster, who once made childrenâs dreams come true on Jimâll Fix It, has been brought into the house to grant the wishes of a few of the housemates.
The presenter was welcomed with open arms by the 10 remaining contestants on the Channel 4 show yesterday.
He arrived in his trademark red tracksuit and gold chain to whoops of delight from the pack of celebrities.
âI have a violent nature, but you have nothing to fear from me,â Sir Jimmy said as he shook basketball player Dennis Rodmanâs hand.
âYou feel good?â asked shamed entertainer Michael Barrymore, to which Sir Jimmy replied: âIndestructibleâ.
âIâm here because I thought you might need something fixingâ, he added, to which fake celebrity Chantelle piped up: âIâve got an earring that needs fixing.â
With cigars and two cans of baked beans tucked under his arm, Sir Jimmy informed the group that âa good Royal Marine always travels equippedâ.
Later, he told the women contestants: âA red-blooded man like me canât stay here overnight with girls like you in here, Iâd get three months in the slammer.â
The celebrities were set a task of trying to stay in cardboard boxes for as long as possible yesterday.
To help them, each was given a survival kit containing a water flask, cake, compass, torch, disposable camera and a flag.
But some of he celebrities could not keep still, with Barrymore eager to be on the move once he was inside.
âWhat do we take pictures of?â asked actress Rula Lenska while Chantelle screamed: âItâs tiny!â
After just a few minutes, singers Pete Burns and Preston were out of their boxes and Rula went on to win the task.
