Wolf Creek an effective horror

Wolf Creek (Optimum, 24.99) takes quite a while to get started — in fact, it’s an hour before the real horror begins.

After that, it’s mayhem and horror all the way, with action that’s perhaps too hard to stomach for some viewers.

The film opens with two British gap year girls Liz (Cassandra Magrath) and Kristy (Kestie Morassi) enjoying their Aussie sojourn when they meet up with Aussie lad Ben (Nathan Phillips), who takes them to Wolf Creek, which is where things suddenly get real ugly.

Director Greg McLean delivers quite an effective horror before the bloodfest begins. The double disc release includes audio commentary, deleted scenes and featurettes.
