Grohl to be a dad

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is to become a dad for the first time after news that his TV producer wife is expecting a child this spring.

Rumours the Best Of You hitmaker and spouse Jordyn Blum were expecting a baby have been circulating for months, but bandmate Taylor Hawkins unwittingly confirmed speculation when he told MTV.com about the group's touring schedule.

He said: "We're going to be touring Europe in January and February, but we've got be home by March, because Dave and his wife are having a baby.

"But I probably wasn't supposed to tell you that."

Grohl joins a growing list of rocker dads-to-be. In September Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and Distillers singer Brody Dalle confirmed they are expecting a child, while news broke two months later that White Stripes star Jack White and supermodel wife Karen Elson expecting too.
