Farrell's film gets cut

Colin Farrell's new historical epic The New World is losing 15 minutes after early audiences complained the film was too long and slow in places.

The decision is odd for a film that is already on limited release in America and is being suggested for Oscar consideration.

Producer Sarah Green says: "It just wasn't quite the way we wanted it."

The film will be 15 minutes shorter when it's released nationally on January 20.
