Hilary Duff has hit out at those who judge her relationship with rocker Joel Madden based on their age gap and images.

Duff is perceived as the dream American teen, blonde, beautiful and just 18. Madden in contrast is the 26-year-old tattooed and pierced member of rock band Good Charlotte.
