Oscar-winning film-maker Steven Spielberg is planning to remake classic 1960s musical Mary Poppins.

Richard Eyre, the director of the London stage show of Mary Poppins, has been approached by Spielberg to helm a new version of the 1964 Julie Andrews-starring movie.
