The Darkness to headline at Meteor Awards

Winners of the 2004 Meteor Award for Best International Group, The Darkness will rock the house at the sixth annual Meteor Ireland Music Awards at the Point Theatre in Dublin on February, 2 2006.

The Darkness recently released their second album One Way Ticket To Hell - And Back.

Seventeen Meteor Ireland Music Awards will be presented.

Music fans are encouraged to vote for their favourite star or band in the six public categories.

The Hope for 2006 Award will be voted for by 2FM listeners while the remaining awards will be decided by the votes cast by representatives of the Irish music industry.

Music fans can vote for short-listed nominees in six categories including: Best Irish DJ, Best Irish Band, Best Irish Male, Best Irish Female, Best Irish Pop Act and Best Live Performance.
