Kate Moss to appear in TV phone advert

Controversial model Kate Moss is to appear in a television advert for Virgin Mobile.

The deal comes after the 31-year-old lost several lucrative contracts because she was pictured snorting cocaine.

She will poke fun at her public image in a ā€œrareā€ speaking role in the commercial, Virgin Mobile said.

Virgin Mobile brand director James Kydd said: ā€œKate Moss is an icon. We are thrilled that she has agreed to appear in our latest commercial.ā€

Miss Moss spent 30 days in an Arizona rehab clinic after a newspaper published photographs of her using drugs.

She lost contracts with H&M and Chanel. Make-up manufacturer Rimmel decided to retain her after she took ā€œthe difficult steps to address her personal problemsā€.

The advert for Virgin Mobile’s new pay-monthly contract will first be broadcast on UK television on Christmas Eve.

It will also mark the television premiere of the Motorola RAZR V3i phone, which will be available from Virgin Mobile in late December.
