Eastwood to receive top film honour
Actor and film-maker Clint Eastwood is set to receive the Directors' Guild of America's highest honour.
The 'Dirty Harry' star will receive its lifetime achievement award in January.
Guild president Michael Apted described the 75-year-old as "one of the most prolific, versatile directors in the history of the medium".
Directors previously given the guild's lifetime achievement award include Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, Stanley Kubrick, Woody Allen and Alfred Hitchcock.
In January, Clint Eastwood will also receive the Producers' Guild of America's Milestone Award for contributions to the movie industry.
