Watching Doom is like watching a kid play a video game

Films based on video games are rarely any good, merely underlining Hollywood’s often alarming lack of originality.

With this in mind this disappointing actioner will appeal only to those who know the game, even with a half-baked plot involving a remote research station on Mars, something going wrong, the arrival of a squad of hard-nosed Space Marines, lots of fire-power, lots of zapping, not much of anything else.
