Rod Stewart is a dad again
Rod Stewart is a father again.
His fiancee, Penny Lancaster, gave birth to a baby boy early yesterday morning at a London hospital, the couple announced today. The baby, who is their first child, weighed 7lbs 7oz.
âBoth Penny and our baby son are gorgeous, healthy and doing well,â Stewart, 60, said in a statement. âI am so very proud of my girl Pen for the commitment, courage and strength she showed throughout.â
Lancaster, a 34-year-old model/photographer, said the birth âwas the most empowering and spiritual experience of my life.â
âIt means so much to Rod and I that we were able to keep to our birthing plan and have our baby naturally,â she said.
The family is now back at their home in Epping. âWe are celebrating every moment with our beautiful boy, we just canât take our eyes off of him,â Stewart said.
Stewart and Lancaster have been together for nearly six years. He proposed to her in March at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Lancasterâs agent, Nicholas Young, has said the couple would make wedding plans once Stewartâs divorce from model Rachel Hunter is finalised.
Stewartâs children include Kimberly, 26, and Sean, 25, by first wife, Alana Stewart; Ruby, 18, with former girlfriend Kelly Emberg; and Renee, 13, and Liam, 11, from his marriage to Hunter.
Kimberly Stewart last week called off an engagement of her own. Just weeks after announcing wedding plans with Laguna Beach star Talan Torriero, the couple called it off Saturday.
