Doherty prepared for rehab with acoustic album

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty prepared for a spell in rehab on Saturday by locking himself away with only a guitar to record songs for an acoustic solo album.

Under pressure from his on/off supermodel girlfriend Kate Moss, Doherty checked into the Meadows Clinic in Arizona in an attempt to beat his drug addictions. Moss was recently treated at the clinic for cocaine abuse after pictures of her snorting the drug were published in a British newspaper.

A source says: "He's been in the studio for the last couple of weeks, just him and a guitar.

"People were trying to keep the sessions secret so he could get on with recording.

"Nobody has heard anything, and as usual with Pete, nobody quite knows how much has been done in the studio."
