DeGeneres chats up Usher on TV show

Ellen DeGeneres poked fun at her sexuality on her daily TV show yesterday when she pretended to hit on R&B superstar Usher.

The lesbian comic-turned-US chat show queen was interviewing the Yeah! singer in New York's Times Square in a taped segment for her show when the couple started getting cosy.

After suggesting that the single R&B star needed to find a woman with a sense of humour and a love of dancing, shocked Usher asked: "Hint, hint?"

DeGeneres, who is dating former Ally McBeal star Portia De Rossi, quickly shot back: "No, I'm not right for you," which prompted Usher to laugh: "That's a hell of a transition."

The chat show host added: "Wouldn't you be something?"

Usher admitted that he is looking for love, explaining: "I'm looking for a companion, someone, you know, I can take to the Waffle House and to the White House."
