Nicholas booted out as Sisters survive X Factor

The Conway Sisters narrowly won another week on X Factor as Nicholas Dorsett became the sixth contestant to be voted off the ITV show.

The Irish girl group and the 18-year-old from Enfield finished in the bottom two after the public vote on last night’s performances.

The two acts went on to sing for their survival and the final decision eventually fell to judge Sharon Osbourne.

Dorsett’s mentor Louis Walsh gave him his crucial vote while Simon Cowell plumped for the girl group so it was down to Sharon Osbourne to make what she described as “the most difficult decision yet“.

The girls’ performance of One Moment In Time just managed to win out over Nicholas’ And If I Ever, although Cowell said neither of them had produced “great performances” on the night.

The Conway Sisters also narrowly aoided being booted out of the show last week when Walsh chose to save them ahead of the popular Maria.

Dorsett took his expulsion well, saying: “I’m happy to have got this far.”

More than one and a half million people voted in the sixth live edition of the talent competition.

The Conway Sisters, Brenda Edwards, Andy Abraham, Shayne Ward, Chico Slimani and Journey South go through to next Saturday’s show.
