Factotum film is better than you might think

Based on the writings of Charles Bukowski this somewhat rambling; but otherwise quite excellent; film is about hanging around, womanising, drinking, gambling; and writing about it.

Dillon, who was considered ill-cast as the central character, turns in a surprisingly fine performance and Hamer’s film certainly captures the life and times of its subject, on his rambles around St. Paul.

The rest of the cast, universally excellent, turns the film into something much better than you might think.
