Shatner plans Star Trek prequel

Former Star Trek Captain William Shatner is hoping to bring the cult sci-fi show back to TV - he's writing a pilot for a prequel show.

The actor, who played Captain James T Kirk in the original Star Trek series, wants to bring the glory days back to the show and is working on a treatment that will pre-date the first episode.
