Take a look at his CV and you'll find he's been at the helm of many of the most outstanding movies ever made; and he's done it again with this gem of a stop-motion animation.

We are back in The Nightmare Before Christmas territory with a collection of off-beat and ghostly characters and a heady mixture of musical numbers, wonderfully awful puns, bones and a show-stealing dead dog.

The story is about an arranged marriage that goes deliciously wrong and it's played out for all it's worth by a terrific cast, many of whom - Depp in particular - have been long-time associates of Burton.
