Murphy's launch music competition

Murphy’s last night launched the second annual Murphy’s Live music competition.

The competition will feature the best in up and coming Irish bands, who will support top Irish acts The Chalets, Waiting Room and The Revs at the Murphy’s Live gigs in February and March 2006.

Bands are invited to enter demos before the closing date of December 2, 2005.

Six bands will be selected from the demos received to join the bill and support either Waiting Room at The Brog, Cork on February 9; The Revs at The Granary, Killarney on February 16 and The Chalets on February 23 in Geoff’s Bar, Waterford.

The competition will climax with a grand final in March supporting a fourth big name Irish band which will be announced closer to the final date.
