Jane Fonda seeks treatment for back and hip pain
Actress and activist Jane Fonda cancelled her planned attendance at a movie premier today, suffering hip and back problems that prompted her to seek treatment at a Paris hospital.
Fonda was to have attended a showing in Saint-Tropez of a documentary about French filmmaker Roger Vadim, one of her former husbands, who died in 2000.
But Karine Lyons, a spokeswoman for the French Riviera resort, said that flying to France had left Fonda with hip and back pains that meant “she can’t take the plane” again from Paris to the south.
Fonda has previously undergone a hip operation, Lyons said. She said the actress went for X-rays this morning at a Paris hospital.
The 90-minute documentary, Vadim, this billionaire of happiness, will still be shown. Fonda may still attend a second showing of the film tomorrow in Paris, Lyons said.
