Slater makes New York his new home

Christian Slater's recent run-in with New York police hasn't deterred the actor from selling up in Hollywood and moving to the Big Apple.

The movie star, who recently beat claims he groped a woman on a New York street, has decided to concentrate on his acclaimed theatre career on Broadway and has put his California estate on the market.

Slater is selling up for $5.7m (€4.7m). His former Brentwood home features a pine-panelled library, fountain, pool and a spa.

Sources claim Slater is looking for a permanent home in New York.
