Former Friends beauty Courteney Cox is in negotiations about a cameo appearance in hit US show Desperate Housewives.

The 41-year-old is set to play a mental home escapee on the run in world famous Wisteria Lane - and landing the part would mark Cox's first appearance on TV since the birth of her daughter Coco Riley.
