Crowe's wife sick of sympathy looks

Hollywood badboy Russell Crowe has a request for his Australian fans - stop giving his wife Danielle Spencer sympathy looks.

The Oscar-winning actor is famed for his bad temper and arguments with co-stars, and was arrested earlier this year for throwing a telephone at a New York City hotel employee.

And thanks to his hellraiser persona, the public seem to think his singer/actress wife Spencer is a saint for putting up with her husband's unpredictability.

Crowe says: "My wife is heartily sick of the dour-faced, sad-eyed looks that people give her on the street and she sometimes wishes she could take every one of those people aside and tell them how fabulous her life is, how much joy her husband gives her and how focused on her he is."
