Irish actress to star at Boston awards

Top awards at this year's seventh annual Magners Irish Film Festival in Boston will go to Fionnula Flanagan - the Excellence Award - star of such films as Waking Ned Devine, Some Mother's Son and Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.

Previous winners have included Jim Sheridan and Gabriel Byrne.

And the Best Feature Film Award goes to Northern Ireland writer-director Terry Loane's Belfast-set Mickybo & Me.

The awards will take place on November 17 to 21.
