Coldplay and Gorillaz get five nominations in MTV Awards

British bands Coldplay and Gorillaz look set to be the big winners at the MTV Europe Music Awards after securing five nominations each for the annual music event.

Newcomer James Blunt is up for Best Song for the hit You’re Beautiful, Best New Act, and Best UK and Ireland Act.
