MacPherson offers sympathy to Moss

Elle MacPherson has offered her sympathy to fallen former catwalk colleague Kate Moss - but maintains she is paying the price of fame.

The Australian former model experienced her own fall from grace two years ago when she checked into the Meadows Clinic in Arizona suffering from depression, so she can relate to the drug scandal that has cost Moss many lucrative modelling contracts.

Moss has lost several modelling contracts with H&M, Burberry and Chanel after photographs allegedly showing the model snorting cocaine were published in a British newspaper last week.

Macpherson says: "(Moss is) learning the price of living a public.

"I think Kate's in a very uncomfortable position but when you lead a public life, your personal life gets scrutinised.

"I'm sure it's a very difficult moment for her right now, but for anyone in the public eye it's very difficult."
