Madonna has ditched photographer/filmmaker David LaChapelle as director of her next video, because of "artistic differences".
The auteur was due to make the promo for Hung Up - the first single from the Material Girl's forthcoming new album.
LaChapelle's representative tells the New York Daily News he "wanted to approach the video in a documentary style, like he did in Rize (his movie about ghetto dancers). Madonna didn't see it the same way."
But they have parted company on the best of terms.
LaChapelle says: "It's going to be major. It's just the hottest Madonna song."
And Madonna's spokesperson Liz Rosenberg gushes: "She loves him and said she would work with him again in a minute."
