Plant joins Pearl Jam's hurricane benefit
British rocker Robert Plant has joined the line up for Pearl Jam's Hurricane Katrina benefit concert, to take place in Chicago on 5 October.
The former Led Zeppelin frontman is currently touring North America with his band the Strange Sensation, and will squeeze the show in between a 4 October stop in New Mexico and a 6 October date in Texas.
For Pearl Jam, the gig at the 1,300-capacity House of Blues will mark the final show of the band's North American tour before a Latin American leg kicks off in Chile on 22 November.
Tickets for the benefit are being sold for $1,000 (€817) each and a spokeswoman for the House Of Blues says four luxury boxes priced at $25,000 (€20,442) have already been purchased.
Net proceeds from the show will go to the Red Cross, Habitat For Humanity, the Jazz Foundation Of America and the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic.
