Nelly sends help to hurricane victims

Hip-hop star Nelly has sent two 18-wheeler trucks loaded with supplies, clothing, toiletries and financial donations to America's hurricane-affected region.

Most of the donations came from a fundraising and clothing drive he held in the rapper's hometown of St Louis, Missouri.

Nelly tells MTV News: "Everyone came out. It was unbelievable."

Nelly has also signed up to headline a benefit concert with David Banner in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, with Ti,Young Jeezy, Twista and others, through Banner's Heal the Hood Foundation.

Nelly adds of Banner: "He's been affected personally, and he's also a good friend of mine. We're working on a few other things. I think people will be working on this through the year. I don't think we'll see anybody slow up."
