Wood needs both glasses and contacts

Lord Of The Rings star Elijah Wood had to don such thick glasses for his role in new film Everything Is Illuminated, he was forced to wear reverse strength contact lenses so he could actually see.

Wood, who is himself shortsighted, had to play a character with an even more severe case of myopia, and his central costume piece caused a lot more problems than he'd anticipated.
